At Better Science, we champion the idea that science is not just for scientists, but a vibrant journey for enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds.

Who We Are

We are a small team of scientists driven by a passion for discovery, science communication, and fostering science literacy. Our team members and collaborators come from all walks of science, including physics, clinical biology, engineering, and science policy.

Our Mission

We recognize the prevailing disconnect between the scientific community and the general public, perpetuated by misinformation and sensationalism. Our mission is to transform this narrative and make science more approachable to everyone, regardless of background or expertise.

What We Do

At Better Science, we produce and share compelling, evidence-based scientific content that’s easy to understand. We host interviews with experts to bring people closer to the scientific world. Our focus is on clear and concise presentations, removing scientific jargon to make information accessible.

Saleh Ramezani

Saleh Ramezani, PhD
Founder

Saleh Ramezani (not an actual astronaut) is the founder and co-host of Better Science. He is currently a post-doctoral researcher at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Saleh received his doctoral degree in medical physics from UT MD Anderson Cancer Center UT Health Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS). His doctoral research focused on the development of a sensitive and specific molecular imaging technique for the early detection of surface markers in heterogeneous colorectal lesions. Saleh believes that science literacy is crucial for navigating today’s science-driven world. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring the mysteries of ancient life as an amateur paleontologist.

Tristen Tellman

Tristen Tellman, PhD
Co-Founder

Tristen Tellman is the co-founder of Better Science. She currently works in science policy in our nation’s capital, championing funding for biomedical research and aiming to guarantee equitable access to healthcare. Tristen received her doctoral degree in biochemistry and cell biology from UT MD Anderson Cancer Center UT Health Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS). Her research focused on the “on-off” switches that control the migratory ability of cells in salivary gland biology and prostate cancer metastasis. Tristen is incredibly passionate about the accessibility of science and believes that a willingness to learn is the greatest gift we can give to ourselves and others.
